Aw 80s song reference- Anyone?

So just ran 8.5 miles and am so proud of myself! I stink, am soaking wet, and look absolutely like road kill, but am very proud to have made it though. THe old knee has been acting up and I was getting concerned- but getting out onto the street and getting off of the track really helped. of course people always say "what about the treadmill?" but I have to say with all sincerity that the treadmill is the work of the devil and the thought of running on it makes my chest constrict even now. HAte the bloody thing and will forfeit my childcare and fantastic gym showers to stay the heck off of it!!

So next challenge???? For those who are counting, the half marathon is now officially less than two months away. Hotels in Baltimore are filling up fast- do the runners a favor thougha nd don't book the ones near the starting or finishing lines! WE need those (it would help if I made reservations though!!)

BTW- for my special someones in GA and SC!!- I listened to Harry Potter throughout my run today and it made the hours fly by even though my running wasn't flying by anything! Love that stuff! And new you would love to hear more about my obsession!!

Ali left on Monday night and I sobbed for a while, but had to pick up my mother who is here for a week and a half. She really helps- I figure that when mom leaves and I get back to a regular schedule is when it will really hit and I will be a blubbering fool. So far Ali is in North Carolina and hopes to be settled by tomorrow- or go to a day spa for a week! Thanks for all of you who are calling to check on my mental health! It is nice to be loved!

Today we hit the battleship in Camden and we really enjoyed it! Of course Derick was in his element- but here are my cuties in a bunk (special note- we did not leave them in the Brig!!)

And finally, the fam finally got the phat-flat screen and the clean lined organization system we have always wanted (thanks IRS tax return) and we are so happy and feel so grown up! We also just love the way it looks- almost like a work of art- then again to the uncultured swines like us, it doesn't take much!

That is really all that's fit to print for now- As the queen says in Bug Life-"It's my lot in life- it's not a lot, but it's a life!"

The After Hotties!

So our haircuts (Ali's and Mine) took 6 hours yesterday! yes, you read right- 6!! Our stylist was coloring highlighting cutting and styling too, and trying to work in other customesr, but it was a long day! The results are stunning to me! I wanted to go a little shorter on the shorter side of my head, but she had run out of time to do it at that point. I think what is really surprising people is the color!
